Admissions Information for Prospective Students

General students

• Have graduated from university. (a six-year pharmacy education program) (includes prospective degree holders)
• Hold a master’s degree. (includes prospective degree holders)
• Have been awarded a degree overseas that is equivalent to a master’s degree. (includes prospective degree holders)
• Be recognized by our graduate school as possessing academic ability equivalent to or greater than a person who has a master's degree.

Adult students

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following qualifications (1) to (4) as well as (5).

1. Have graduated from university. (a six-year pharmacy education program)
2. Hold a master’s degree.
3. Have been awarded a degree overseas that is equivalent to a master’s degree.
4. Be recognized by our graduate school as possessing academic ability equivalent to or greater than a person who has a master's degree. (including graduates of six-year education programs)
5. Those who work at a medical institution, company, government office, etc., and who wish to retain their employment after admission to our university after admission, will require a letter of acceptance from the head of the relevant organization.

• Have graduated from university. (includes prospective graduates)
• Have been awarded a degree by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation. (includes prospective degree holders)
• Have completed 16 years of school education in a foreign country. (including those expected to complete this requirement)
• Be recognized by our graduate school as possessing academic ability equivalent to or greater than that of a university graduate, through individual assessment of admission requirements, and be at least 22 years old. (including individuals who will be 22 by March)
• Other Be recognized by our graduate school as possessing academic ability equivalent or greater than that of a university graduate.

A person who satisfies one of the following requirements (1) to (4).

1. Hold a master’s degree or be expected to complete a master’s degree.
2. Have obtained a degree overseas that is equivalent to a master’s degree.
3. Be designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
4. Be recognized by our graduate school as possessing academic ability equivalent to or greater than a person who has a master's degree.

Applicants who apply under (3) or (4) will be subject to pre-qualification. For details, please contact us during January.
Those who work at a medical institution, company, government office, etc., and who wish to retain their employment while pursuing studies leading to a doctoral degree at our university, must (in addition to one of (1) to (4) above) confirm (with both the principal supervisor at our university and the manager of his/her workplace) prior to applying for admission how their subsequent research will be guided. It is possible to enter the doctoral program while continuing to work at your place of employment.

A person who satisfies one of the following requirements (1) to (4).

1. Have graduated from a university or be expected to graduate.
2. Have completed or be about to complete a degree under Article 68-2(3) of the School Education Act.
3. Have completed 16 years of school education in a foreign country or be expected to complete this requirement.
4. Be recognized by our Graduate School of Life Sciences as possessing academic ability equivalent to or greater than that of a university graduate. (Applicants will be subject to pre-qualification. For details, please contact us during July.)
